The Perky-Pet® Ant Guard® effectively repels ants from feeders and easily mounts in-line with hanging bird feeders.

The Ant Guard™ was reviewed and accepted for use on hummingbird feeders by the US EPA. Permethrin is used in many common household products, including dog flea collars and children’s shampoo, and impregnated fabric is now even used in US Military combat uniforms to repel mosquitos. Like the naturally derived pyrethrin, which originates from chrysanthemums and was the inspiration for this substance, it should be kept away from ponds, streams or other bodies of water because of risks to aquatic organisms.
